A
life long resident of
the 4th district of
Union County, Greg’s
first home was a
100-year old log house
with one sink and an
outhouse. Proudly
educated by the Union
County school system,
Greg began his career
while in high school
writing software and as
a videographer.
Greg
worked for a short time
at Clayton Homes in
Maynardville to save
enough money to start
his first business, a
graphic arts company.
This company produced
materials for printing
companies and
advertising and
marketing agencies.
Eventually the company
expanded with a printing
division itself.
Coinciding with this,
Greg continued to
consult as a software
designer that led him to
specialize in motion
control robotics. Greg
then left the graphics
company and began
consulting fulltime.
This led to travel
around the South and
becoming the co-inventor
of a number of
patents—one of which
took a Knoxville company
to a listing on the NYSC.
Today,
Greg specializes in the
robotics and nuclear
detection fields. His
products are used in
nearly every continent,
so Greg now travels
nationally and abroad.
Elected to the Union
County Commission in
2006, Greg believes he
has one foot in the
traditional rural side
of the county—the other
foot in the high-tech
global market that is
the future of our
country. He believes the
two sides can come
together for a
prosperous future for
our citizenship.
Greg
is the son of Bob and
Sue Davis. His wife,
Stephany, and he have
two daughters. Greg
attends Valley Grove
Baptist Church, where he
is a deacon. Greg is
involved in other civic
and political
organizations as well. |
