Brenda
has always
loved
politics and
was led to
run for
office
because she
saw that
many
districts
were being
unequally
represented.
Being a
person who
is very
approachable
and never
meeting a
stranger,
she was
elected to
the Union
County
Commission
in 2002 and
reelected in
2006 and
2010.
A proud
accomplishment
during her
first term
was serving
on the
Ambulance
Board, which
brought the
ambulance
service off
the ground
to serve the
county
better.
Brenda
served on
that board
for eight
years.
She also
served on
the Jail
Committee to
solve the
problem of
overcrowding,
and
previously
served on the
insurance
committee
where she
has
exceptional
experience
due to her
professional
career. She
has also
served as
Chairperson
for the
Ethics
Committee.
Since 2002,
Brenda has
proudly
served on
the
following
committees
and boards:
Budget &
Finance
Committee
(served as
Secretary 2
years),
Education
Committee,
Insurance
Committee,
Jail
Committee,
Ambulance
Board, and
Solid Waste
Board.
In her
private life
she believes
heavily in
the
Knoxville
Rescue
Mission,
St. Judes
and the East
Tennessee
Children’s
Hospital.
She supports
these
organizations
and donates
to them as
well. She
volunteers
for
Toys-for-Tots,
benefits for
the Luttrell
Fire
Department,
and serves
as a
volunteer
for East
Tennessee
Childrens
Hospital.
Brenda
previously worked
as a
financial
counselor
for St.
Mary’s
Health
System
helping
individuals
with their
health care
needs. She
attends
Luttrell
Baptist
Church.
She
is happily
married to
Sidney Jessee
and has
three
children,
including
her son,
Sidney Allen, Jr.
and
daughter-in-law,
Melinda
(Graves)
Jessee;
daughters
Heather
Paige and
son-in-law,
Matthew
Williams,
and Holly
Nicole and
son-in-law,
Daniel
Simmons.
Brenda has
two
grandchildren,
Cole Greyson
and Callie
Faith
Williams.
Brenda is
the daughter
of the late
George H. and
Anna "Dollie" Savage.
Brenda
considers it
an honor to
be able to
serve the
citizens of
Union
County, and
vows to make
informed
decisions
and serve to
the best of
her ability,
with honesty
and
integrity. |
